For those of you that don’t know, the Airbus A380 is the world’s second-largest passenger airliner, only trumped by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner․ But let’s use our favorite Airbus model for this article․ So, all planes have wheels․ Which naturally means that we need to hypothesize what would happen if we took a 560-tonne aircraft off-roading․

THE COURSE: ZION NATIONAL PARK

THE PLANE: AIRBUS A380

NUMBER OF WHEELS: 22

HYPOTHESIS: THE PLANE WILL DO BETTER THAN A JEEP WRANGLER

I stole an A380 from American Airlines to do this test․

I totally didn’t run over any hiker in the National Park testing site․

I averaged 175 MPH, about the same as an A380 taking off․ Why? Because it has ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE․

So, if you are looking for a family vehicle fit for off-roading and can fit the entire family, invest in an Airbus A380!
