Should Admins Be Elected?

What he essentially said was he wasn’t picking favorites, and we may hold a mini election. Although some things below are irrelevant, I still feel some opinions are relevant, especially my “This Never Takes Into Effect” chapter. Still, heed my warnings, we want to keep this site.

It Really Depends

Before anything, I must make something clear. Ehab is the creator of this site, and he has the final decision in anything related to this site. But recently, a comment by Taarank has raised a very interesting point. Should admins of the site be chosen by vote?

Scenario 1:

First scenario is a short one. Ehab says no. This is the shortest scenario and may be likely. If he says no, this post will likely be deleted, and it will be like nothing ever happened. I don’t have to say much about this, as it is simple, and you don’t have to think much about this.

Scenario 2:

The second scenario is much more complicated. This is where Ehab says yes. Now, this may seem simple, all we must do is vote. But what happens when you think a little deeper? There are many questions that must be raised. Who will vote? The authors? Or will it be like the Play-Doh debate, where anybody votes? Does Ehab have the final decision? Will he simply say “No, I like this guy” and choose somebody that lost the poll? How could we vote? Should we use Microsoft Forms, where somebody could easily fake the votes, or the comments, which are difficult to track? Who can try and become admin? Would some random dude without an account be able too, or could any author run? If everybody runs, who will vote? There are dozens of other scenarios that I cannot get into on this short article, so I will simply go over some concerns and possible solutions.

Ehab Chooses the Runners

An easy option for the issue of who gets to vote is for Ehab to choose. If Ehab does not want to, we can get the current admins to choose. That way, we will have a limited selection of people and make it easier to manage.

How Many Admins?

Now, we go over a very important concern. How many admins are there? To my knowledge, there are 4 main admins as of right now, Kevin, Ivan, and Andrew. To my knowledge, only Kevin is active daily. I do not know if Andrew is admin for sure, but he is a co-founder of the site. Anyways, as I was saying, there are around 3 admins. That is a lot. Do we really need more?

This Never Takes into Effect

I actually kinda want this to never happen. I feel a vote for admin would be too complicated, and I trust Ehab’s judgment to have good admins. If Ehab decides to reject this, I support him. It is simply easier to have one ultimate power deciding everything. We are middle schoolers, and in a competition like running for admin, we will most certainly get very heated and will say some things we regret. In fact, some of the things we say due to anger may even get this site and the people within it in trouble. This is my personal opinion, and nobody needs to listen to it. But at least heed my warning. This is a site for having fun and posting fun articles. DO NOT tear it apart and ruin a good thing for your own personal gain. If you wish to become admin, prove it. Be a good force on this site. Participate in conversation. Post good articles. Follow the rules. Maybe Ehab will promote one of you.
