Trump Executive Orders So Far

DISCLAIMER: I am not using this article to express my political opinions, and this is not a debate. This is just to inform of Trump’s executive orders.

Donald Trump has only been president for two days, but he has already made many important decisions. Many of these controversial. So, I will break them all down for you.

National Emergency at Mexican Border

Trump has declared an emergency at our southern border. He designated certain Mexican cartels as foreign terrorists. He will also evoke the Aliens Act of 1798 to target them. He will also suspend the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, meaning that people seeking safety in America, will know longer be allowed in for at least 90 days.

Birthright Citizenship Order

Donald Trump ended birthright citizenship for children of immigrants coming into the United States. Before this, if you were born in the U.S. and were the child of an immigrant, you would automatically become a citizen of the United States. This is now no longer the law.

Energy and Environment Orders

Trump has deregulated oil drilling (Drill, Baby, Drill). Oil drilling can cause extreme environmental impact, despite its economic impact. Trump has also removed Biden’s restrictions on drilling in coastal areas in Alaska. He has also withdrawn from the Paris Climate agreement, which was formed to slow climate change.

DEI and Transgender Orders

Trump said “it is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female.” Basically, meaning that the U.S. government no longer recognizes people that are transgender. He also banned transgender people from the U.S. military, something Biden had approved. He also ordered the dismantling of government diversity. He also terminated many acts that were used to promote diversity and inclusiveness between races and genders.

January 6th Pardons

Trump pardoned a large group of participants in the January 6th Capitol Riots. Among these were leaders of far-right extremists groups, The Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. He is also pardoning Ross Ulbricht, who was sentenced to life in prison for creating the black web market place: The Silk Road.

WHO, Covid, and Health Orders

Trump has pulled out of the World Health Organization (WHO), an organization dedicated to global public health improvement. He is withdrawing due to his belief they mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic. He is also rescinded a Biden order to lower prescription drug costs.

TikTok Extension and Others

Trump has extended TikTok for 75 more days, giving the corporation time to find an American buyer. He has also ensured that government agencies do not “unconstitutionally abridge the free speech of any American citizen.” He also revoked security clearance of his former national security advisor. He also created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
